This two-tier wedding cake is made from chocolate and white sponge cake, and filled and iced with European butter-cream icing. The seashells are made from edible sugar paste, and painted in blue shades to match the wedding theme. The fan corals are made from royal icing. There are 96 shells and sea creatures on this cake.
Alternately this cake can be covered with fondant icing to give a satiny finish.
Seashells were available in marzipan to use as bridal favours.
